| Hello all! I just wanted everyone to know that since my last entry, I have finished the transcription for Eric's song "Deep Deep Down". Thomas Leeb taught the piece to the attendees of his summer guitar bootcamp in Austria last summer. In the last year I have also completed transcriptions for 5 more of Eric's songs and started a Facebook fanpage:

I hope to have enough input and support to create a new book of transcriptions to be released for the benefit of the family, in much the same way that the first one was. |

| Hello,
I went to to see Eric at the Macmillan cancer concert back in 2005. I knew his music because my brother is a gituarist and a big fan, I was blown away by his playing and the depth of his songs.
I had the honour of exchanging a few words with him after the gig, what a extrodinary man, and yet even with his virtuosity on his instrument, so humble.
Just wanted to share my experience that will stay with me.

Derek Johnson here; I used to teach at ACM with Eric? He crossed my mind strongly this evening and I just wanted to say hi and let you know his greatness as a beautiful human being still resonates with me.
I have photos of our time in the studio that you and the children would never have seen and would like to get them to you; they include Eric's brother Brian who played on the session too. (It was for the project which led to the album that Martin Taylor produced.) My email is included here as you can see.

| On Friday 8th March 2013 I shall be playing 3 of Eric's tunes at a charity gig in Hereford to raise money for a young person's room at our local hospice. As a former student of Eric's and cancer survivor I shall be immensely proud to introduce his wonderful music to new, and hopefully amazed ears whilst helping to raise money for such a good cause. Came back to Eric's web site as he's been very present in my thoughts recently. Just returned from the London Acoustic Guitar Show where I filmed Newton Faulkner live and got a great interview with him. Thomas Leeb, Mike Dawes, Ryan Keen all there too and, in abundance and independantly of each other, soooo many guitarists affectionately remembered Eric. All spoke of his influence on their playing, all spoke of his stature in that music style but mostly all spoke of him as a dear, dear friend.
I met Eric a few times, we hung out at after show get togethers and I too have extremely fond memories of a very wonderful person. My very best to you and the rest of the family. X |

| I had Eric for music theory at the ACM exactly ten years ago. He was concise, articulate and able to explain music in such a beautiful way. It is thanks to him that I have a greater understanding of music. He was also an unequivocally gifted musician who I was lucky enough to see perform. He would also give mini performances in our classes. What's more if you ever stepped out of line he would smack your arse down. RIP Eric x |

| Was just having a discussion with a friend earlier about the new Newton Faulkner album and told her she just had to listen to the guy who inspired it all, so lent her both Perc-u-lator and Spin. Such amazing work by an amazing guy who I feel lucky to have had the chance to see at so many guitar shows etc in Birmingham. Such a credit that his style is now showing itslef in so many other fingerstyle players and folk writers, alongside Newton - just wish he could have seen it all take off and fly. |

| Eric was such an incredible inspiration to me. The first time i saw him play I knew i had been waiting all my life to see someone as talented as he wss but had not yet been lucky enough until that day.
I used to go to his house and get private intuition which was a joy not so far from Cambrdige and he would teach me tricks on the guitar. I know for a fact he was an inspiration to many at the ACM and I will never ever forget being in my flat in Guildford when Eric called me to say that he wasn't well and to pass the message on. I remember the day as clearly as yesterday. Still today this i remember seeing one of his last concerts and I remember how increible it was.
I see his influence hugely in Newton Faulkers playing, whom i know Eric influenced. I think of Eric often and I listen to his songs on Youtube. It wasn't for another 6 years that i would go to nashville ( USA ) that I would hear players that even came close to Eric. He will be in heart forever and his musical presance with me always. A great man, a father, a wonderful teacher and a musical inspiration of the highest.

| I came to know of Eric's music through my association with Thomas Leeb. Thomas turned me on to a lot of players I'd never heard before, many of whom I greatly enjoy. I later found that Eric was a common influence of these players and in a lot of cases they had studied under him as well. I transcribe music in my spare time, and I decided I wanted to do something for the Roche family to show my appreciation. I transcribed Eric's piece "Deep Deep Down". I gave it to Thomas to look over and validate it. Once finished we then hope to somehow market it to benefit the Roche family. Thank you for the music. :) |

| Hello to all of Eric's loved ones and friends,
For some reason Eric's memory is strong in my thoughts tonight and I felt compelled to search him out in some kind of tangible way. I was fortunate enough to make his acquaintance when I lived in Cambridge in 2000 and was even more fortunate to be his opening act at the Cambridge Folk Club that year, in April, I believe. Anyway, I do miss him terribly, even though I live in Texas and wish his family peace, love, and light as they continue on in this life. What an amazing, talented man I had the pleasure to know!
